Did you know that group singing has a number of benefits and has been scientifically proven to lower stress, increase confidence and positively enhance your mood? Singing in a chorus also offers a friendly and sociable network to have some fun and provides a great opportunity to meet new people.

So if you enjoy singing, are looking for a new challenge and want to make some new friends, then joining Cheshire Chord Company might just be for you.

If you are interested we would love to invite you to initially attend a couple of our rehearsals so that you can watch and listen to us, to give you an idea of what we do.

We rehearse every Thursday evening from 7:45pm-10:30pm at:

Bruche Community Primary School
Seymour Drive

We just ask that you contact us beforehand to let us know you are coming and we will arrange for somebody to greet you when you arrive.

After a few visits we know you’ll be hooked and so once you’re ready you can then begin our audition process which starts with a voice test to see which part would be most suitable for your voice.

We usually sing in four parts:
Lead – usually has the melody of the piece
Tenor – the harmony part sung consistently above the lead line
Baritone – covers approximately the same vocal range as the lead. The baritone  harmony notes cross the lead notes; sometimes sung below and sometimes above.
Bass – take the lowest part of the harmony.

At times we may be looking for particular voice parts but please ask us about this, and we will be happy to discuss the details with you at the audition phase.

You do not have to read music to be able to join and we will provide you with audio teach tracks as an aid to learning new songs.

All we ask is that you can commit to weekly rehearsals and the occasional Sunday rehearsal throughout the year.

So if you would like to become a member of an award-winning ladies barbershop chorus and think this could be for you then we’d love for you to contact us.

Hi I’m keen to join having met one of your participants on Saturday in Salford where I teach. I currently deliver training in Rochdale on a Thursday evening so can’t begin until the 2nd week of December (I normally work in Warrington) but I understand there is an audition process anyway. I hope to hear from you all the best. Christine
